Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani Peruvian Muay Thai fighter, mixed martial artist who currently is a competitor in the UFC flyweight division. She is the younger sister of the fellow UFC fighter and ex- UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko's career in combat sports began as an Muay Thai competitor. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title before being defeated by Suzane Mller in a unanimous decision. Antonina kept her winning streak going by winning a silver and bronze medal in 2008 and 2007 respectively, as well as a Gold medal in 2011, and the 2015 IFMA amateur world champion. Antonia was a professional who started her professional career in 2003, won in 2012 and the 2016 International Lion Fight Lightweight championships. The WMC World Championships also held in 2016 and she won the 2016 IFMA Amateur Muay Thailand World Champion. Antonina's last fight was at the Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. She won by unanimous vote. Antonina shevchenko fought her first professional MMA fight in 2002 against Anara bayanova at the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan. She took the win via a second round TKO followed by two more bouts at the WXF X-Impact World Championships to earn a 3-0 record. Shevchenko stopped her involvement in MMA in order to concentrate on kickboxing. She made her return against Anissa haddaoui, at Phoenix FC 3, 2017. Shevchenko defeated Anissa by a majority vote and defeated Valerie Domergue on Phoenix FC 4 in the year 2017. She joined Dana White Contender Series 2018 after leaving the promotion. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera as part of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Antonina knocked out Nievera using her impressive striking ability during the clinch final round by using knees on the body. In the aftermath of this victory, Antonina was able to sign a UFC contract. Antonina was offered a UFC contract after her win. Shevchenko won the unanimous decision, but fell in the second round to Roxanne Modafferi on a split decision. Antonina recovered from this loss, defeating Lucie Pudilova on UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler by a rear-naked choke submission. The result earned her the bonus of a fight-of-the night. Shevchenko lost to Katlyn and Andrea Lee in three of her subsequent fights. She fought Ariane Lipski but she also defeated Ariane. Antonina suffered a loss to Casey O'Neill by second-round TKO during UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
