Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine has a unique style which combines R&B with gospel, soul music and R&B. She has performed on Broadway, in the Democratic National Convention and in the European clubs and festivals. Sunshine is a name that she has given her is Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta she was born in Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical path began at church where she sang and performed piano. She attended Spellman College and began to study the R&B style that is popular in Atlanta. The band was hired as the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her vocals she asked Sunshine to be part of the Dreamgirls show during the Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was brought to the attention of the nation during four performances per day at the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was later invited to sing for the President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
